Massachusetts Medicaid Infrastructure and Comprehensive Opportunities Grant
 |
The University of Massachusetts in collaboration with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) was awarded a Comprehensive Employment Systems (CES) grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in January of 2008. This grant follows two previous grant awards from CMS in 2000 and 2004. |
The grant focus in on systems change to minimize barriers to employment for people with disabilities. Grant activities will continue to include research and program development to support these systems changes. Current major project areas include Policy Analysis and Development, Consumer Advocacy Outreach and Training, Employer Outreach and Training, Employment Provider Outreach and Training, and Clinical Provider Outreach and Training.
The grant offers a unique opportunity for collaborations among state agencies involved in disability and employment policy, people with disabilities and their advocates, and two nationally recognized research and training centers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Boston Campus respectively; the Center for Health Policy and Research (CHPR) and The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI).
